Alsco Uniforms 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway aims to celebrate women in business and motorsports through naming of Grand Marshal and Honorary Starter
SALT LAKE CITY — MARCH 1, 2023 — In just a few short days, on March 4, 2023, Las Vegas Motor Speedway will host the Alsco Uniforms 300 Xfinity Series NASCAR race. Jeb Burton, with Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport, will debut the Alsco Uniforms No. 27 Chevrolet Camaro at the race. For Sunday’s Cup race, Kyle Busch will pilot the Alsco Uniforms No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Richard Childress Racing. The weekend is set to be an exciting one for Alsco Uniforms fans as Busch comes off a record-setting NASCAR win on Sunday at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.
As March is Women’s History Month, Alsco Uniforms is excited to honor women in both the racing world and in its own industry through its selection of Grand Marshall and Honorary Starter for the Alsco 300 race.
Grand Marshal Jennifer White is senior vice president of marketing & communications for Richard Childress Racing, and she is the first female VP in RCR’s 54-year history. She has a fierce passion for the sport and worked her way up in marketing and brand partnerships in NASCAR. White’s role is vital to the success of Richard Childress Racing as she brings a unique perspective and helps to mentor other female leaders in the industry.
“When I was promoted to Senior VP,” White said, “there were very few female leaders throughout NASCAR. I’ve worked very hard to help pave the way for women within NASCAR and our organization at Richard Childress Racing. I strive to create a path for the next generation to become leaders in our sport. Over the past decade, the entire NASCAR industry has done an amazing job of encouraging female leadership.”
Erica Cottey, senior marketing manager for Alsco Uniforms, will be the honorary starter for the Alsco 300. For over a decade, she has played a leading role in developing and managing Alsco’s involvement with NASCAR, advancing partnerships and developing activation plans for guests on-site, as week as handling all other marketing needs for Alsco within the sport.
Cottey reflected on how the development of her company’s relationships in NASCAR began: “After supplying uniforms for the Kentucky Speedway in 2012, we took the trek out there in 2013 to host a small event at the track in the summer of 2013. That weekend, we had an unexpected opportunity to put our logo on the Phoenix Racing #51 Chevrolet, which was being driven by Austin Dillon for the cup race that weekend.” At the time, Austin was driving full-time in the Xfinity Series for Richard Childress Racing. In recognizing an existing relationship with Richard Childress and Childress Vineyards, Alsco Uniforms began talks to join RCR as a regular sponsor. Cottey explained, “It was a very organic experience for us, and it just grew and grew from there to include multiple drivers and track sponsorships.”
The Alsco Uniforms 300 and the Pennzoil 400 Cup race both promise to be exciting events that recognize the contributions of women in racing and encourage more young women to join the fun. Alsco Uniforms is proud to sponsor this event and to support young female fans who want to pursue a career in racing and in business. Fans of racing should mark their calendars for March 4, 2023, at 1:30 pm. Pacific, to catch all the action at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
