Alsco Tees Up to Support Cypress Assistance Ministries Through Food Town’s Golf Tournament

Houston, TX  Food Town, a locally owned company with 32 locations in Houston, held its 12th annual Meat Head Golf Tournament on Sept. 19, 2018. Along with being a lot of fun, the tournament will raise money for Cypress Assistance Ministries (CAM). This nonprofit organization serves individuals and families in financial crisis, including the elderly, the unemployed and single mothers.

“We think that Cypress Assistance Ministries is a great cause to support,” says Ryan Potter, general manager for the Houston Industrial Alsco Branch. “Our donation through Food Town’s tournament will benefit the low-income residents of the Cypress area by helping CAM provide low-cost after-school care for single mothers and other charitable programs in the community.”

Founded in July 1990, CAM offers financial help with rent or utilities, supplies food and household goods and provides job counseling services and job leads. Last year CAM fed 15,480 individuals through its food pantry, equipped 1,005 students with supplies and helped 862 low-income families with rent and utilities.

“There’s no doubt the work CAM does in the Cypress area makes a difference,” says Potter. “Alsco is proud to be part of helping them do the work they do and in partnering with Food Town for a good cause.”
