Alsco Saskatoon Donates to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation

Saskatoon, Canada – September 12, 2018 –  Alsco Inc., a linen and uniform rental services company, recently participated in and donated to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation Fundraiser. The event raised money for the soon-to-be-built Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon, Canada.

The new children’s hospital will be the first children’s hospital within a six-hour drive of Saskatoon. The hospital will have a pediatric emergency center as well as a maternal care floor, which will allow mothers to give birth and stay with their new baby in the same private room.

“After seeing financial and emotional hardship for families with children and their medical difficulties,” says Darrell Sukkau, general manager for Alsco Saskatoon Branch. “I’m confident this hospital will make a difference in the Saskatoon community.”

The fundraiser consisted of a golf tournament at The Saskatoon Golf and Country Club where participants played in a Texas Scramble tournament. After the golf tournament, everyone returned to the Delta Hotel where four of Marriott’s top chefs, two from Saskatoon and two from Regina, dressed in Alsco donated chef whites and competed for best entrée. Attendees sampled two different entrees from each chef, paired with their wine choice, and the voted for “best meal” at the end.

“It was a fantastic event enjoyed by all,” recalls Sukkau. “Alsco was proud to participate and support improving the local community with better healthcare options for women and children.”

During the fundraiser, there was an appearance made by the National Lacrosse League champions, The Saskatoon Rush. There was also an appearance made by Chandler Stephenson, winner of the Stanley Cup and a member of the Washington Capitals.
