Salt Lake City, Utah – July 31, 2017 – Alsco’s Roanoke branch recently contributed to the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Relay For Life, its signature annual fundraising event, by supporting a local relay team. More than 6,000 communities in 27 countries participate as volunteers in the annual ACS Relay For Life.
Funds raised from the ACS’s Relay For Life events are used to save lives by supporting education and prevention efforts, funding groundbreaking cancer research, and providing free information and services for people with cancer who need them. Alsco’s donation, along with other local support, helped the relay team meet their goal of raising over $7,500 for the ACS event.
“Cancer touches so many people in our community,” said Nick Dyson, Alsco Roanoke general manager. “We really wanted to be able help support those who have had to battle with cancer in our community, and giving to a local Relay for Life team was the perfect opportunity to do so.”
