TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - May 10, 2018 - The Small Business Week Committee, which comprises representatives from state and local government, institutions of higher learning, and local chambers of commerce, is honoring Alsco Linen and Uniform Rental Services of Tallahassee for its continued support of nonprofit organizations in the Tallahassee Big Bend area.
On Friday, May 11, the committee will present Alsco with the Parks and Crump Community Champion of the Year Award for 2018. This award is given to businesses that have demonstrated their willingness to give back to the community. Stakeholders and business leaders in the community nominate businesses for this award.
“Alsco’s care, concern, and commitment to our community serves as an example for other businesses to emulate,” says Keith Bowers, chairman of the Small Business Week Committee. Tony Brown, general manager of Alsco Tallahassee, stated, “We’re excited to be recognized for this community award. This highlights how hard our sales, service, and operations teams work to provide the best quality linen, uniform, and first aid products to local businesses in our community.”
The Alsco Tallahassee branch has partnered with many charitable organizations throughout the Tallahassee Big Bend Area over the past several years, including the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Leon County Schools, the Kearney Center, and the City of Tallahassee. For its support and service to the community, Alsco was also recently awarded the 2018 Spirit of Philanthropy Award by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, the Outstanding Partner of the Year Award by the Leon County School District, and the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association Community Award.
The Alsco Tallahassee branch continues to support critical needs of these organizations as well as many others such as the Children’s Home Society, Meals on Wheels, Toys for Tots, Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Foundation, American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and University of Florida Health Shands Hospital.
