Alsco Pompano Beach Branch Supports Event Benefiting Special Olympics

Salt Lake City — Every year for 19 years, the Saint Coleman’s Men’s Club has organized the Walk on Water Fishing Tournament to benefit the Special Olympics of Broward County, Florida. This year, the Alsco Pompano Beach Branch was proud to lend its sponsorship support to the event, including both monetary and in-kind support, such as providing auction items and linen for dinner tables. The fishing tournament is a family-oriented event that encourages everyone to enjoy a great day on the water while helping out the local Special Olympics. “It’s great to be part of this event,” says Bob Call, general manager of the Alsco Pompano Beach, Florida Branch. “It gives Alsco an opportunity to help two great organizations at once. The Broward County Special Olympics and St. Coleman’s Men’s Club does a lot for the community, including helping to provide much-needed funds for the local Special Olympics.” The Special Olympics of Broward County offers sports training and competition to adults and children 8 years and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It currently serves 5,152 athletes throughout Broward County in 22 different sports. Almost 1,000 people from the community give their time to volunteer each year. “The Special Olympics of Broward County really touches a lot of our community,” says Call. “And we wanted to acknowledge that with our support.”
