Alsco Partners with Hope Haven and Sonic Automotive to Support Addiction Recovery

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – February 27, 2020 Hope Haven, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, provides life skills for chemically dependent adults and their families within a supportive residential environment with the goal of helping people achieve healthy recovery and economic independence. Alsco has partnered with Hope Haven to support these efforts by hiring individuals who have been through Hope Haven’s rehabilitation service.

“Working with Hope Haven has been a win-win,” said Alan Sowers, general manager for the Alsco Charlotte, North Carolina, Branch. “We can help recovered individuals find stable employment and economic independence, and it helps us fill open positions within our company.”

Alsco is further supporting Hope Haven through a partnership with the 150-dealership chain, Sonic Automotive. Together, the two companies have committed to help improve conditions at Hope Haven’s main facility, The Villages of Hope Haven. This facility, formerly the Villager Inn Motel, consists of 11.6 acres, which includes a 17,500-square-foot conference center and 206 housing units. The property had previously fallen prey to drug dealers and criminal activity, but Hope Haven’s strong community presence has been changing the situation by partnering to revitalize and empower the local community.

Open since 1976, Hope Haven serves an average of more than 300 adults per year. Plus, the Hope Haven’s facility, The Villages of Hope Haven, has made it possible to respond to a critical shortage of aftercare facilities in the Charlotte area, particularly those serving substance abusing individuals and their families.

“Hope Haven fills a real and critical need in our local community,” said Sowers. “And Alsco is a proud and committed partner in those efforts.”
