Alsco Lends Support to Children Grieving Loss of Parent or Sibling

Richmond, Va. — October 28, 2019 — The Alsco branch in Richmond, Virginia, has recently donated to Comfort Zone Camp (CZC) to help provide camp scholarships for children who have lost parents or siblings, and who need assistance to address their grief.

CZC is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary. During the past 20 years, it has hosted 20,000 kids — all at no cost. Founded on the idea that grieving children need to know they are not alone, CZC provides a place for them to grow and heal in a camp environment.

“Losing a parent, sibling, or legal guardian as a child is a very tough thing to deal with,” says Tony Beam, general manager at the Alsco Richmond branch. “We wanted to be able to support kids undergoing this challenge by enabling them to get the support network they need to help them adjust and heal.”

CZC was founded in Richmond, Virginia, but has since expanded to California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and North Carolina. CZC provides camp opportunities to grieving children across 44 states, Washington D.C., and Canada.
