KINSTON, N.C. — Alsco Inc. recently donated funds to Mary’s Kitchen in Kinston, North Carolina, to help feed those in need.
The Alsco Kinston branch applied for and received a nonprofit gift/grant through the Steiner Foundation, which Alsco created in 1969 to allow Alsco branches to become involved in and support nonprofit charities and projects in their communities.
Mary’s Kitchen is there to aid those in need by serving lunch seven days a week, all year long. Everyone is welcome to eat at Mary’s Kitchen — no questions asked. Approximately 125 meals are served each day.
Over the years, Mary’s Kitchen has become a community ministry, with monetary and volunteer support from many of the area’s churches, religious communities, businesses, nonprofit organizations and families. These contributions help Mary’s Kitchen with food, maintenance and utility expenses.
Alsco Kinston had the pleasure of presenting Mary’s Kitchen with a donation. Today’s donation will enable Mary’s Kitchen to provide approximately 1,036 meals to individuals in need.
