HONOLULU–Dec. 2, 2016 – Alsco Inc., the premier linen and uniform rental services company, recently donated $5,000 to the Hawai’i for Hawai’i Fundraiser and Live Telethon to help reduce homelessness in Hawaii.
By joining with other sponsors of the Hawai’i for Hawai’i Fundraiser, Alsco was able to contribute vital funds to The Institute for Human Services (IHS) for Hawaii, which reduces homelessness and provides outreach programs, transportation, case management and airline relocation throughout the state of Hawaii. As a family-owned and operated business, Alsco takes a profound interest in the local communities that surround their national branches.
The IHS also offers a wide array of housing assistance options that are tailored to various homeless populations, including at-risk, recently homeless, chronically homeless, physically vulnerable and more. In addition, IHS provides targeted and effective support services to clients who want to transition out of homelessness. With support from the IHS Case Managers, homeless clients are better able to access entitlements, housing assistance, substance abuse treatment, mental health services, healthcare, employment, and community reintegration support.
About The Institute for Human Services (IHS): The Institute for Human Services is Hawaii’s oldest, largest and most comprehensive human service agency exclusively focused on ending and preventing homelessness on Oahu. Through Hawai’i for Hawai’i, IHS was able to substantially extend services in the past few years. IHS provides services that include emergency shelter, daily meal programs, housing assistance, employment, healthcare, case management, children’s enrichment, and homeless outreach.
