INDIANAPOLIS — October 16, 2019 — The Indianapolis branch of Alsco, Inc., the premier linen and uniform services company, recently donated to the Damar Foundation. The gift was awarded through the Steiner Foundation, a foundation Alsco created to support various nonprofit charities and organizations in the local communities of the Alsco branches. The donation is intended to help support the Damar Foundation’s efforts to provide critical services to a wide range of people living with behavioral and developmental disabilities.
Two parents started the Damar Foundation 50 years ago with a focus on caring for children with a specific set of needs. Over time, the Damar Foundation realized its approaches and expertise could help a much broader group of people.
Today, the Damar Foundation is Indiana’s leading not-for-profit provider of full-continuum services to children and adults with developmental and behavioral disabilities. The Damar Foundation serves 1500 individuals a day in Indianapolis and its surrounding areas. Alsco’s support will help it continue to provide these valuable services, which extend not only to individuals with disabilities but to the families and caregivers who surround and support them.
“It simply comes down to a belief that everyone deserves to have opportunities for success in life,“ said Carl Murray, general manager of Alsco in Indianapolis. “We are very grateful to be involved with such an inspirational organization as Damar Services, as a vendor and now as a donor. We are excited to contribute and know that this donation will help Damar in improving opportunities for the lives they impact every day.”
