Alsco Indianapolis Donates to the Damar Foundation

INDIANAPOLIS —  The Alsco Indianapolis branch of Alsco, Inc., the premier linen and uniform services company, recently donated $1,000 to the Damar Foundation, a nonprofit founded by Damar Services. The Alsco Indianapolis branch applied for and received a nonprofit gift/grant through the Steiner Foundation, which Alsco created in 1969 to allow Alsco branches to become involved in and support various nonprofit charities and projects in their local communities.

The Damar Foundation is Indiana’s leading nonprofit provider of full continuum services to children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and behavior challenges, and it serves 1,500 individuals a day within Indianapolis and surrounding areas. Today, the services of the Damar Foundation deliver care and results for remarkable people of all ages and with a wide range of needs.

“It simply comes down to a belief that everyone deserves to have opportunities for success in life,” said Carl Murray, general manager of Alsco Indianapolis. “We are very grateful to be involved with such an inspirational organization as Damar Services, as a vendor and now as a donor. We are excited to contribute and know that this donation will help Damar in improving opportunities for the lives impacted every day.”

About the Damar Foundation

Started by two parents wanting the best for their own children with disabilities, Damar had a narrow focus: caring for children with a specific set of needs. Today, Damar Services sets itself apart by delivering remarkable care and remarkable results for people of all ages and with a wide range of needs. Throughout the last fifty years, Damar never lost sight of one fact: developmental and behavioral disabilities never affect just one person; they affect entire families. Even as it has become a national leader among organizations serving children and adults with developmental and behavioral disabilities, Damar has continued its commitment to serving both its clients and the families and caregivers who surround them. In 2015, Damar’s board created the Damar Foundation to ensure good stewardship and a professional approach to fundraising. For more information or to donate, please go to https://www.damar.org.
