Charlotte, North Carolina – June 20, 2017 – The Alsco Charlotte branch of Alsco Inc., the premier linen and uniform rental services company, recently made a donation to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Dream Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Life is hard for the homeless. It can be difficult to find an avenue to a better life and even more difficult to maintain the hope that you will. In Charlotte, North Carolina, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Dream Center is working to help the local homeless population find hope and get on the path to a better way of life.
Through community outreach, daily meals, GED classes, financial training, spiritual support and discipleship, and on-the-job training to become chefs, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Dream Center is giving participants a new lease on life. The Alsco Charlotte branch recently made a donation in support of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Dream Center’s efforts to provide on-the-job chef training.
“We are optimistic that, through the Dream Center’s efforts, many homeless men and women will have the opportunity to find a new way forward in life,” said Alan Sowers, Alsco Charlotte general manager. “And we are proud to be part of those efforts by providing financial support to help the chef training program succeed.”
About Charlotte Mecklenburg Dream Center: As a restauranteur and pastor in Charlotte, North Carolina, founder Jim Noble expanded his successful restaurant group to include King’s Kitchen in 2010, with a mission to serve uptown Charlotte with traditional Southern dishes while also serving the homeless and hungry in the city. Response was greater than anticipated. Along with his wife Karen and a team of staff and volunteers, Pastor Noble subsequently launched the Charlotte Mecklenburg Dream Center, which is a member of the Dream Center Network founded by Pastor Tommy Barnett, to create greater outreach and services for the area’s homeless. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Dream Center partners with businesses, non-profit organizations and churches to offer services that provide medical care, clothing, food, housing, training, discipleship, and employment.
