Alsco Gives Robinson's Rescue a Paw Up to Reduce Animal Overpopulation

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Alsco Shreveport branch of Alsco Inc. recently made a donation to the Robinson's Rescue animal clinic to support the clinic's mission to help bring down the homeless animal population and to ensure the health and well-being of pets.

In the state of Louisiana, 130,000 pets enter shelters each year and, of that number, approximately 92,000 are put to sleep, according to data from both ASPCA and Robinson's Rescue. Spaying/neutering pets not only reduces the number of unwanted animals in the community and the burden on shelters, but decreases an animal’s risk of diseases that can be expensive to treat.

Robinson's Rescue is a high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter clinic located in the Shreveport area that offers affordable, low-cost or free programs to surrounding communities because spaying/neutering their family pet is a cost that many families consider "optional." For low-income families, Robinson's Rescue offers Subsidized Spay/Neuter Incentive Program (SSNIP) vouchers that include a rabies vaccination.

The Shreveport branch made this donation to Robinson’s Rescueto help meet clinic expenses in providing these valuable programs and services to the many communities within the Shreveport area. In addition, Alsco Shreveport sponsors the Robinson’s Rescue's annual fundraiser called “Best In Sheaux," which is a competitive, Westminster-style dog show—the only one of its kind in Northwest Louisiana. This year's Best in Sheaux fundraiser/dog show recently was held on March 11th.
