SALT LAKE CITY – May 22, 2018 – Alsco, Inc., a worldwide leader in the rental of linen, uniforms, healthcare garments and washroom services, expanded its partnership with Speedway Motorsports, Inc. (SMI) and announced on March 4 that Alsco had secured entitlement sponsorship of the Alsco 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race to be held May 26 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Celebrating its third consecutive year as the title sponsor of the Alsco 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Kentucky Speedway on July 13, Alsco is one of only two companies to serve as entitlement sponsor for multiple Xfinity Series events.
“Our partners at Speedway Motorsports, Inc. have been very active in arranging business-to-business opportunities for growing our customer base,” said Jim Divers, director of sales and marketing at Alsco. “Coupled with the same help from our relationships with companies such as Richard Petty Motorsports, Richard Childress Racing, Roy Hill Drag Racing School and our great uniform provider, VF Imagewear, the decision to increase our involvement in the NASCAR Xfinity Series was easy.” “Since announcing our original deal with Alsco and Kentucky Speedway, the relationship between Speedway Motorsports and Alsco has been more of a partnership than a simple business transaction. Like SMI, Alsco cares deeply about the customers they serve and puts them first in their decision-making,” stated John Cox, vice president of business development at SMI Corporate. “As Alsco looked to expand its footprint within motorsports, Charlotte Motor Speedway was the next logical fit and we’re excited about what the future holds as we continue to build on an already strong foundation.”
“Charlotte Motor Speedway is all about striving for excellence, which is a quality we share with Alsco,” said Greg Walter, Charlotte Motor Speedway’s executive vice president. “Alsco’s partnership with the speedway is proof that this world-class company is committed to supporting our thrilling, action-packed events at America’s Home for Racing.” Divers echoed Walter’s sentiments about Charlotte Motor Speedway and the area it serves, stating, “Charlotte Motor Speedway is considered the home track of NASCAR. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is located in uptown Charlotte and most of the race teams are located nearby. In addition, Alsco has a large market presence in the eastern part of the country with a great deal of growth opportunity remaining. Our customers and prospects love coming to this track, so it all works out incredibly well.”
Alsco is also excited to present entrepreneur, philanthropist, former NFL linebacker, author and host Dhani Jones as the Grand Marshall for the Alsco 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In 2010, Jones launched the BowTie Cause, a philanthropic endeavor that designs signature bow ties for organizations around the country. His entrepreneurial spirit has continued to push him in new directions: Jones currently serves as chairman of investment fund Qey Capital Partners and is one of the three founders of the Hillman Accelerator. In his travelogue/memoir, “The Sportsman: Unexpected Lessons from an Around-the-World Sports Odyssey,” Jones recaps his rise to NFL fame as well as his time as host of Travel Channel’s original series “Dhani Tackles the Globe.” Currently he is an investor on CNBC’s television series, “Adventure Capitalist.”
In addition, Alsco has announced Jim Travis, director of housekeeping at the world-famous Pinehurst Resort, as the race’s Honorary Starter. Alsco has been proud to call the Pinehurst Resort a partner for 29 years, and Travis has been a part of the Pinehurst team for 19 of those years. He has held a variety of positions within the organization, including resort services manager, director of transportation and director of conference services.
