Alsco donates to Make-A-Wish to help Kyle, Texas, boy fulfill his wish

Kyle, TX – Nov. 01, 2018 – Ash Crane is an eight-year-old boy who loves roller hockey. He was also born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and has undergone several major surgeries since birth. Due to complications with his oxygen levels, Ash’s family moved from Colorado to Kyle, Texas, to help stabilize Ash’s condition at a lower altitude. However, Ash had to leave behind the public roller hockey rinks he loved so much.

Now, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the city of Kyle, Texas, are joining forces to help Ash fulfill his wish for a public hockey rink that he and many other kids in the community will be able to use and enjoy for years to come. The city of Kyle had been planning to build a covered pavilion at a local park for events, but when they heard about Ash’s wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, they realized that, with some adjustments, the space could double as an outdoor roller hockey rink. The city is covering the original cost of the project, about $250,000, but needs approximately $200,000 more to complete the work.

Alsco’s Austin branch, which just built a new production facility in Kyle, Texas, has donated to the Make- A-Wish Foundation to help Ash’s wish come true. “As a local business in this community, we are proud to support Ash’s wish, which will bring joy not just to Ash, but to so many in the community,” says Anthony Wessels, general manager of the Alsco Austin branch. “It’s truly a great cause for a great kid and a great community.”
