Alsco donates to the Naples Shelter for Abused Women and Children

NAPLES, Fla. — Sept. 27, 2018 — Domestic violence affects one in four women and one in 15 children each year. Fighting against this trend, the Naples Shelter for Abused Women and Children (The Shelter) is working to prevent and prevail against domestic violence and to protect those in its local community. The Alsco branch in Naples, Florida, is also offering its support to help prevent domestic violence and protect its victims through a donation to The Shelter. The funds will be used to educate and improve the lives of local families.

“We want to be a force for good in our community and make sure that families, especially vulnerable women and children, are protected and supported,” said William Dandridge, the Alsco Naples general manager.

Started in 1989 by a handful of committed individuals and now transforming the lives of thousands of survivors in the Naples area, The Shelter offers numerous programs to help prevent, protect and prevail against domestic violence. These programs provide shelter, emergency cell phone service and counseling as well as education and outreach to a number of vulnerable populations within the community.

The Shelter offers professional training and continuing education for the medical community, mental health providers, dentistry professionals and local law enforcement agencies as well as human resource professionals. The Shelter also collaborates with attorneys, medical representatives, law enforcement, the State Attorney’s Office, the Florida Department of Children and Families, schools and other nonprofit agencies through the Domestic Violence Task Force.

"Their work is making an impact in the community,” said Dandridge. “We’re proud to support them.”
