Alsco Phoenix Supports Thrive Program to Help Struggling Families Thrive

PHOENIX  – Alsco Phoenix, a branch of Alsco Inc. recently donated to the Thrive: Foster Care Prevention and Reunification program developed by Phoenix Dream Center. Over 18,000 children are currently in the Arizona Foster Care system, according to an article in The Republic dated September 2016 for online AZ Central. Many parents and families struggle to meet their children’s basic needs. Unfortunately, when they can’t make ends meet, it can lead to having to remove children from their home and placing them in foster care. But what if a little additional help could keep these children in their home with their parents?
“At Alsco Phoenix, we understand that many local families just need a little help,” said Branch Manager Kelly Johnson. “By donating to Thrive, we are helping to give these families in our community the support they need.”
Thrive provides food, clothing, diapers, beds, pillows, blankets, cleaning supplies, appliances, and furniture to help ensure that homes with minor children meet the requirements of Maricopa County’s Department of Child and Family Services. Along with meeting a family’s initial needs, Thrive also commits to providing ongoing support to help the family stay together.
“We are honored to be able to help support our community and aid those struggling families throughout the Phoenix area and valley,” said Johnson.

About Thrive: Foster Care Prevention and Reunification Program and Phoenix Dream Center
Phoenix Dream Center’s vision of its Thrive Foster Care Prevention program is to help prevent children from being removed from their families due to the lack of basic needs and resources. Working in cooperation with Arizona Department of Child Safety caseworkers and community social workers, Thrive connects clients with community partners and thus helps provide the basic needs required by the Arizona Department of Child Safety for children to remain with their families.
