Alsco Jacksonville Makes Donation to K9s for Warriors

Jacksonville, Fla. – Alsco Jacksonville, a branch of Alsco Inc., the premier linen and uniform rental services company, recently donated funds to the K9s for Warriors, which helps support America’s veterans coping with post-traumatic stress disability (PTSD) and anxiety. The organization is the nation’s largest provider of service dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma as a result of military service since 9/11.

Post-9/11 veterans like William, Ricky and Michelle have one thing in common—their struggle with PTSD and anxiety that often makes just leaving the house a challenge. To honor the service of these veterans and many others like them who continue to struggle with trauma from serving in multiple war zones since 9/11, Alsco Jacksonville pitched in funds that will go toward obtaining a trained service dog.

K9s for Warriors, founded in 2011, has served 346 veterans to date and has more demand for its services then it can provide. The program is completely free for veterans and includes the equipment, training, certification, vet care, and housing during the 120-day program training for the veterans and their service dogs. Currently, the waiting list is about 18 months for a veteran to be placed into the program.

“There is no other program like K9s for Warriors,” says Alsco Branch Manager Sean Fournier. “Supporting our veterans and helping them to get back on their feet and out in the world is something we here at Alsco Jacksonville are proud to be a part of.”
